Elena's journey began in the unlikeliest of places. On Wall Street.
A hard-driving Harvard graduate with an engineering background and a high-powered career, the long hours 'rewarded' her with acne, hair loss, and auto immune disorders. So Elena sought the help of Eastern Medicine. She healed—quickly and radiantly. Awed and changed, she left the corporate world to pursue her calling: holistic skincare.
Elena speaks of chi and balance. But her approach to skin is firmly grounded in science. Her products are pure and her facial pampering, and the results speak loudly for themselves. Her compassionate approach, root cause solutions and targeted advice have earned Elena a loyal following.
Elena remains in service to healing skin with both her services and products, while ETHOS, the wellness center she founded over two years ago, provides practitioners of a similar caliber and philosophy for help with total body needs.
Meet Colleen Russell, Elena's Facialist. Growing up a fair-skinned redhead in Hawaii, Colleen Russell has always been acutely aware of her skin’s needs. “Personality, the environment, stresses, digestion, exercise. They all play a role in the way your skin looks and feels,” she says.
So when she moved from her sandy island to New York City’s urban one over a decade ago, she wove her passion for wellness into a flourishing career. Studying nutrition and then holistic skincare, Colleen enriched both her knowledge-base and vocabulary for the healthy principles she grew up with.
For six years, she worked as an aesthetician in the spa industry. Then, she got a call from Elena Rubin with an opportunity to deepen her holistic approach. A former client herself, Elena hand-picked her to help service her burgeoning practice and holistic-minded clients—and Colleen jumped at the chance.
Now, the two are collaborating to strike a delicate balance: facial treatments and wellness advice that inspire glowing skin. We love one-on-one conversations with clients and being able to regularly connect and be part of clients’ ongoing progress is the best part of what we do.
